📝 Registration Information

Each year, families must update their student’s records.

Important Dates:

  • 🌱 Applying to Green Tech Academy?
    Registration is part of the application and must be completed by February 6, 2026. ALL Students who would like priority seating in our Green and/or Tech Elective classes must apply. 

  • 🏫 Not applying to Green Tech:
    Registration opens February 16, 2026 in the Parent Portal under the Enroll Austin tile.

  • 🔄 Transfer Students:
    Annual forms must be completed by April 25, 2026 to hold your seat.

📌 504 Plan Information

  • If your student already has a 504 plan with AISD, it will automatically transfer to Small.

  • If you are new to AISD, please indicate the 504 plan on your registration paperwork and include a copy of the most recent plan.

  • Teachers receive the plan before school begins and are trained to implement accommodations starting the first day of school.

  • Our campus 504 clerk will contact you when your child’s annual review is due.

  • If you have immediate concerns, please call the campus to speak with our 504 coordinator.

📋 Choice Sheets

Choice sheets help us build your student’s schedule. Insider tip... review 7th and 8th grade course descriptions to find pre-requisites needed to take in 6th grade to build a solid path for your future. 

🏠 Feeder Students

(Patton, Mills, Oak Hill, Baldwin)
Counselors visit feeder schools in January/February to help students complete choice sheets. Forms are submitted directly to Small.

🚍 Transfer Students

Once placements are confirmed, families will be invited to a Virtual Choice Sheet event. Choice Sheets are due within a few days of that meeting. Feel free to review course descriptions and choice sheets, but do not turn them in until after you have been approved for a transfer.

🕵️ Mystery Students

Live in our zone but don’t attend a feeder school? Please Register your student for Small middle school in the Enroll Austin tile in the AISD Parent Portal after February 16th and fill out your choice sheet email it into our 6th grade counselor Richard.Gonzalez@austinisd.org, or drop it off in our Office ASAP.

🗺️ Campus Scavenger Hunt

🏫 Drop-in Event (No registration required)

Students guide their families around campus using a sample schedule and fun scavenger hunt challenges.

🎺 Band & Orchestra Instrument Selection

Families will be contacted after Spring Break to schedule an individual instrument selection appointment.

Discovery Sessions:

  • 🗓️ Monday, March 31 (9:00 AM–4:00 PM)

  • 🗓️ Thursday, April 9 (4:30–8:30 PM)

✏️ School Supplies

Most supplies are determined after the first week of school based on class needs.
