Welcome To Clint Small Middle School where we focus on teaching the whole child through project based learning and peer collaboration. We follow the Project Lead The Way model of teaching. By tackling challenges, students are empowered to make a real-world impact.
We hope to make this page your one-stop-shop for everything Small related focusing on incoming 6th graders.
Things you need to complete for the incoming school year:

Every year you must update your students records. Starting on April 2nd 2024, you can log into the parent portal and find the Enroll Austin tile. You can learn more about annual regisration here. Transfer Students must complete their annual forms by the March 26th deadline, or thier seat will not be saved.
Choice Sheets
Feeder Kids (kids that live in our attendance zone): Choice sheets are done in January/February. Counselors go to our feeder schools (Patton, Mills, Oak Hill and Baldwin) and teach the kids how to fill it out. They are turned in and sent to Small at that time.
Transfer Kids (Kids that are not zoned to Small): Once we know which kids we will accept and they accept us back, we will hold a Zoom Choice sheet event. The Choice sheets are due with in a few days of that event.
Mystery Kids (Kids that live in our attendance zone, but do NOT go to a feeder school and plan to come to Small for MS): These are kids we don't know are planning to come to Small and therefore don't know to communicate with them regarding choice sheets. Please contact Small so we can get your choice sheet asap.

Cougar Camp, Parent Camp, Scavenger Hunt
Every year we offer a tranistion camp for our incoming 6th graders or students new to Small MS. Kids come to Small for 2 half day sessions to make new friends, learn the layout of Small and get comfortable for the new school year. Students must pre-register here by June 5th. This will fill up, so please sign up early.

Scavenger Hunt
August 8th, 2024 - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
This is a come and go event. No need to pre-register
We will create a sample schedule similar to the one your student will recieve the first day of school, along with a scavenger hunt challenge.
The purpose is for the kids to bring their parents to campus and show them they know how to navigate the campus.
We have learned that this event eases the parents worry and the kids have fun showing off.

School Supplies
As you may have heard, most middle and high school students don't shop for school supplies until after the first day of school. The reason is, every class has their own needs.
This is a little frustrating for those parents that want to get a jump on the good deals that go on during summer and not wait until everything is sold out. Especially this year when things are so up in the air. We have created a basic sample list to get you started. If you see a good deal, go ahead and pick up some of the itmes below.

Splashfest!
Join us on May 3rd from 3:50 to 6:30 pm for our biggest FUNdraiser of the year!
Part wet, part dry carnival in the sun. 10 to 20 Inflatables like Water Slides, Water battle maze, melt down, rock wall plus much must more. Add 20 more Games and booths sponsord by different clubs and deptartments here at Small.
Win raffle tickets for great prizes.
Wristbands and Tickets go on sale late April.
