In addition to offering a robust slate of comprehensive academic and elective classes Small is proud to offer innovative courses in environmental studies and Career & Technology Education (CTE), including a strong STEAM program implementing the national pre-engineering curriculum of Project Lead the Way (Gateway to Technology) and EcoRise Design Innovation curriculum. 

Our 2025-2026 students will receive their Course Verifications letters in April 2025. These letters list the courses that will be assigned to your student for next school year. It is not their official schedule.

•  Student Application (4-signatures) and the Release of Liability form must be completed, or the application will not be approved.

• Deadline Dates for student applications. Late applications will not be accepted:

  •  Fall semester: Due by May 15

  • Spring semester: Due by Nov 15

• Student applications can be submitted via email to OCPE@austinisd.org

•  Exceptions will be made for newly enrolled students up to a week prior to the 1st day of each semester

Athletics Physical Forms

PHYSICAL FORM INFORMATION . Physicals are recommended in April for the following school year so that the physical is valid for the entire sport season.

New sheets are not available yet. Please submit your physical to the counselors or coaches as soon as you have it and no later than your first day of the athletic period. 

Applications & Auditions / Solicitudes y Audiciones

Choice sheets will be due before applications are due. No worries!

• Advanced Theater Auditions, Click on the google form and sign up for an audition time. There are 3 dates to pick from.

  There is a link to the monologue choices for the audition. Pick 1 monologue, memorize it and perform it at your audition time. 

• Yearbook Application 
• Office Aide Applications Deadline is Feb. 7th 2024. Stop by at Counseling office to pick up the application. 
• Jazz Band 

• PALS 
• Chamber Choir:  Auditions will be held April 7-18 in the Choir Room open to current 6th and 7th Grade Choir Students only. (Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis: See Ms. Baird before signing up). Singers can sign up for a date/time on my door right after spring break.


• Advanced Art:  To apply to Art III Advanced need to submit at least two artworks that represent: 1.) an artwork completed within an instructional class no older than the previous year in which the artwork is submitted, and 2.) an independent artwork that is neither anime, or a single human/animal eyeball. Students may submit more than two, but because of volume, no more than 4 works should be entered. 
• Cougar Dancers
  • Auditions for the Cougar Dance team will be:

1. Tuesday March 4th from 4:00-5:30 in the Gym.
2. Wednesday March 5th from 4:00-5:30 in the Gym and the Dance Portable.   
3. Thursday March 6th 4:00-6:30 in the Gym and the Dance Portable. 

Students are required to attend ALL 3 dates to try out! 

Physical forms are not required for the tryouts, however is the student makes the team, he/she must submit physical form dated after April 15th, 2025.
